Master the Art and Science of Dermoscopy

A modern, self-paced online dermoscopy academy focused on visual learning and clinical confidence — built by a consultant dermatologist to improve patient care.

DM Dermoscopy Academy teaches clinicians to see differently.

Essential Dermoscopy: Core Skills for Clinical Practice is launching soon!

Why DM Dermoscopy Academy?

Most clinicians receive only limited formal training in dermoscopy.

Learning often happens through occasional courses, textbooks or busy clinics, making it difficult to build real confidence in pattern recognition.

DM Dermoscopy Academy was created to change that.

Built around real clinical cases, interactive learning and a structured visual approach, the academy is designed to help clinicians develop practical dermoscopy skills that translate directly into everyday practice.

Meet Dr Dalila Malek

Dr Dalila Malek is a UK board-certified Consultant Dermatologist with a special interest in dermoscopy and skin cancer diagnosis. She graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2005, and after early training in general practice — where she first fell in love with dermatology — she went on to specialise, eventually founding DM Dermatology Clinic in 2023.

For over a decade, Dr Malek has worked in a region with a high incidence of skin cancer, using dermoscopy daily in clinical practice and developing a particular strength in pattern recognition — one she has verified through repeated audits comparing her dermoscopic impressions against final histopathology outcomes.

Alongside her NHS and private practice, she has spent years teaching dermoscopy informally and formally to fellow dermatologists, GPs, and trainees — consistently finding that her clear, methodical approach helps clinicians build confidence quickly.

What other professionals are saying

’Dr Malek's approach to teaching Dermoscopy is clear, practical, and directly applicable to clinical practice. I would highly recommend her teaching. She has a fantastic ability to simplify what can initially feel quite complex, helping to build confidence when assessing lesions and deciding which patients require an urgent two-week-wait referral and which can be safely reassured’’

— Dr. Adekemi Coker GP Trainer & Partner

"Differentiating melanoma from benign pigmented lesions was the most useful part of her teaching. It changed my approach dramatically, making me much better organised and clear about what I am looking for under the dermatoscope. I would definitely recommend it to another clinician."

— Dr. Mohammed Moursi Dermatologist

‘’…Very clear , structured and engaging way of explaining…I was really impressed by her approach. She was able to create a positive and approachable learning environment, making it easy to engage and build confidence’’.

Learn Dermoscopy Differently

Instead of memorising hundreds of diagnoses...

Learn to recognise patterns.

The academy teaches dermoscopy as a visual language.

Every lesson builds your ability to identify meaningful structures, understand why they matter, and connect what you see with clinical reasoning.

This pattern-recognition approach helps make dermoscopy more intuitive, more memorable and easier to apply in busy clinics.

What makes this course different?

Behind every diagnosis lies a visual pattern.

At DM Dermoscopy Academy you'll learn to appreciate the symmetry, structures and subtle details that make dermoscopy one of the most fascinating areas of clinical medicine.
